Wishing You Joy this Christmas!

Here is P.K.'s card for inspiration at The Crafter's Cafe Kid's Challenge. The theme is Christmas. The image and sentiment are from The Crafty Nomad.   "I chose this angel because I like angels. I put some jewels on her dress.  My mom put the jewels on the bottom near the sentiment and I do not like it. Hope you leave a comment for me." Love from P.K. She is also entering the following challenges:  Children's Challenge Corner (Christmas or Winter), Simon Says Stamp (Anything Goes).

The twins say thank-you

Here are some thank - you cards the boys made for the following challenges:

The Crafters Cafe November Kids Challenge - Thanksgiving or Thank-You
Craft Your Passion Kids Challenge #2 Seeing Red

Merci means thank-you in French. The boys really liked stamping and writing their own words in the thought bubble and and on the bug's sign! Andrew used a RED marker to colour his sleeping bunny. Riley usually uses RED cause it is his favourite colour, but opted for orange this time ;)

P.K.'s penguin

I saw my mom's penguin card and had to make the same one! Same image from BUGABOO stamps, same sketch from Sketches by Carly but I did choose different colours and papers to work with. We also added CTMH liquid applique to make it look like he has a fuzzy tuque and clear glitter for the snow.  I am entering my card in these challenges:

Profitez de fetes

Here is another French Christmas card (digi and inspiration from Birds Cards). The girls made a similar one....their first attempt at paper piecing.....it went surprisingly well. The papers are from a new paper pack I picked up in Grand Forks at Target. We need to replenish our supply of Christmas cards cause my sister bought 10 cards from the girls. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday #181 so I will enter their challenge. Thanks again for looking and have a great day!

Joyeux Noel

It has been so long since I have posted one of my own cards! I have mostly been working on Little Hands Challenge Blog (our kid's challenge blog) and helping all 4 kids with their card making. When I do have time or am inspired to make cards I am usually making Christmas cards....cause you never can have enough of those. Although I did attend an awesome camp a few weeks ago....which got me back to the craft room! My digis and inspiration came from Birds Cards and the sketch is from Sketch N Stash. I am entering Challenge #74....the stash is actually my friends new French Christmas sentiments that she already borrowed me. My kids go to a French school so the cards we give to friends and teachers are often in French. Thanks for looking!

Cute OWL

Here is the Cute Owl card I made for our 2nd challenge at Little Hands Challenge Blog.  Our sponsor is Fresh Brewed Designs and she has a whole section of owl digis to choose from. I love the colour pink and found this pretty flower at Cole's house to add to my card. We all tried to copy my sister's design....you can check it out at Miss E Makes... I am also entering my card at Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge Blog where ANYTHING GOES for November. Thanks for looking ;) P.K.

A new month a new challenge at The Crafter's Cafe. This bear is from Jen's Digi Stamps who is the sponsor for this month's Thank - you /Thanksgiving themed challenge. This bear's name is PJ and my nickname is PK....I thought that was kind of cool when I chose this digi!!! I am also entering my card at the Children's Challenge Corner where my brother chose Bears as this months challenge.

A 2nd giraffe card

Here is a 2nd card I made for Little Hands Challenge Blog using Gerry 'n Gina Giraffe from Prairie Fairy Designs. It is a birthday card and maybe I will give it to my friend whose party is later this month. I used glitter for Gina's scarf and I used Cole's cuttlebug to emboss the light pink paper and to cut it in the shape of an oval so that my giraffe could fit inside. I hope you will choose your favourite animal and join us for the challenge that ends November 15th.

Here is Riley's bear card for The Children's Challenge Corner. He made it for his uncle whose birthday was this week. He tries hard to keep his colouring in the lines! He loves glueing the card together and really liked adding the red flowers to this project.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Bear

Here is the bear card Andrew made for the challenge he got to choose at the Children's Challenge Corner. This card is for his Grandpa who's birthday was this week. He loves to color the whole digi....background and all! He also really enjoys stamping! Thanks for looking!

Little Hands Challenge Blog

Come one, come all!!!! My mom and her friend have started a new challenge blog for KIDS.  It's called Little Hands Challenge Blog.  My sister and I are on the design team. Challenge #1 is your favourite animal. Our first sponsor is Prairie Fairy Designs and she let us each choose a digi from her store. I loved the giraffes named Lil Gina and Gerry. We even got together with the other team members and made our cards together. I love working at Cole's house cause she has some awesome supplies. I tried her Cuttlebug and even chose some googly eyes to put on my giraffe. Hope you all come and participate in our challenges - it'll be a lot of fun if you do.

Happy Halloween

I made one more Halloween card for The Crafter's Cafe Kids Design Team. For this one I used an image from AIF Graphics. I am entering it in the AIF Graphics Challenge #96 - anything goes....but you must use an AIF Graphics image. I am also entering the Fall/Halloween challenge at Craft Your Passion Kids Challenges (a new challenge blog for kids!!!). I used glitter for the eyes, nose and mouth so it actually looks like a real Jack O Lantern that is lit up on Halloween night.

Children's Challenge Corner - Andrew's Challenge Choice

Andrew won challenge #23 at Children's Challenge Corner!
He gets to pick the next challenge and he chose BEARS. At first he wanted lions cause he loves the Lion King characters and movie but he changed his mind and finally decided on bears. Should be easy since there are so many great bear stamps and digital images.

Don't forget to join us at Little Hands Challenge Blog for our first challenge on Nov. 1st!!!!

Children's Challenge Corner

The twins made a card for the Children's Challenge Corner. They have really been interested in joining us when Miss E, P.K. and I are card making. Challenge #23 at CCC was to make a card that describes you and they really enjoyed stamping their names with letter, adding stickers and colouring images of their favourite things (CARS...in case you cannot make them out).

A Dancing Girl

P.K. is short for Pretty Kitty. It is one of the many nicknames my mom has for me. She even just calls me Kit sometimes. I actually have blondish hair and love to dance and sing and play! I like school so I put an ABC blocks sticker and the other stickers in the background are a bible, church, heart and a fish. I am proud to be Catholic and love Jesus!
I am entering my card at the Children's Challenge Corner. Challenge #23 is to make a card about you!

Here is the owl card I made for The Crafter's Cafe Kid's Design Team. The image is from The Stamping Boutique and there is a sale on their Halloween/Fall images right now!!! My sister has been using the Sketch n Stash catalog to design her cards now for awhile. We have both finally used the week's sketch and are entering Challenge # 72. This digi is one that I used to make one my first cards ever. Also the yellow paper is from my mom's stash....she had it for scrapbooking which she did way before she started making cards.

Just a note

What started out as me printing off some Limited Runs Digis for the girls to colour red and enter their monthly challenge ended up as me entering the challenge with this card as well as the Black & White + 1 colour challenge over at 2 Sisters challenge blog and of course I followed a sketch so I will enter the challenge at Sketch Saturday #172 where Simon Says is the sponsor! My daughter Miss E was lucky enough to win a $25 gift certificate for their shop and we sure had a great time choosing her loot! At first I thought this sketch would be hard for me to work with but I just love the finished product...if I do say so myself ;)

2 cute 2 spook

My mom grabbed this freebie at Bows and Berries.  They are the sponsor over at Aly's Sunday Challenge...which we assume is a children friendly challenge blog  :) This month's challenge is to add a bow and that's what I did. I chose 4 different jewels for the four corners cause I liked them all! Thanks for looking - P.K.

Halloween Horse

My mom found a new challenge site for kids! It's at Jen's Digi Stamps. She gives you a freebie and you have to create some sort of crafty project with it. My mom thinks this is a trick or treating giraffe, but I think it is a horse.....a trick or treating horse! : ) P.K.

Sunday 11 September 2011

P.K. is on The Crafter's Cafe Kid's Design Team!

Hi everyone it's me P.K. Guess what? I am on The Crafter's Cafe Kid's Design Team! Do you know what that means? I get to pick digis from the sponsors and make cards to get other kids to join the monthly challenge. This month's theme is Party and here are the cards I made. All the images are from The Stamping Boutique. Do you know which one is my favourite? It's the one with the fairy because I used a lot of jewels. Which one do you like best?!

A paper-pieced tree

Here is my 2nd attempt at paper piecing. I rather like it! Cutting, glueing, not as much colouring! This digi is from Stretch N Bubbles and I picked it up as a Dollar Digi as advertised on the Free Digital Stamps blog. It is still available for a few more days : ) The sketch is from The Sweet Stop. I think I may have to find a sentiment that fits and add it later. I am still building my collection of stamps and don't really have anything I like for this card.  I am sure one of my crafting buddies may be able to help me out with this one ; )

Christmas Puppy

Such a sweet image from Sliekje Digi Stamps. She has lots of super cute freebies, but let's make sure to thank those artists, so that they keep making 'em! The sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #118-49 and so I will enter their challenge. I tried to create a flower with these gems/snowflakes that I got from Dollarama...but I am not sure that I am a fan. I don't have too many embellishments to work with so I guess this will have to do. I am also entering Catch the Bug September Anything Goes (my 3rd and final entry). TFL and have a great day : )

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas!

I've been back to making Christmas cards lately. I think me and the girls have made 5 in the last few days. This image is from Bugaboo and since they are caroling I thought the perfect sentiment would be "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas"....just like the song! I really like the look of a big bow on other people's cards so I gave it a try. I definitely need to get more Christmas DSP soon as I am getting bored with what I have.  I cannot wait until my CTMH order comes in because I did order some : ) I am entering my card at:

Sister - Forever Friend

I made this card for my sista! I spent a lot of time with her earlier this summer, but haven't seen her in a few weeks. She is coming over tomorrow so I will give it to her then ; ) The image is obviously Bugaboo. The sentiment is from a set of sister sentiments I got from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Catch the Bug September Anything Goes
2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Friends
Stamp Something September Digi Day
Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes (I really wish I had had time to complete their Stamp tember Blog Hop)!

Rag Bunny

I've been really wanting to try paper piecing so when Catch the Bug listed that as their challenge I decided here's my chance. Not as hard as I thought! I followed the tutorial I found at OWH Stars and Stamps. I used the Rag Bunny freebie I got from Bugaboo. It is available  HERE until tomorrow. The sketch is courtesy of Sweet Sketch Wednesday #117.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Beary Bee Flower

Here is my final entry in the Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge. I used a Bugaboo image. It was a freebie a few weeks ago.  Turns out I glued the papers on backwards so the card opens the opposite way. I guess sometimes I work too fast ; ) I just love card making!!!

Unicorn Love

Another one of my favourite Melonheadz digis. I love to dress up and thought what an awesome costume a unicorn would be. I chose bright colours AGAIN and am entering Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge AGAIN. : ) P.K.

Pogo Stick Girl

I had my mom print off a whole bunch of MelonHeadz digis and I got to work on card making. I sure like this pogo stick girl. My mom had coloured the HI sentiment (from Meljen's Designs) but never ended up using it so I did. I love bright coloured markers and papers. My sister got this ribbon on one of her birthday presents and we thought it would be perfect to add to our card making stash. I am entering my card at Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge. I am so happy you can enter as many times as you want cause this is my 5th entry! : ) P.K.

Tuesday 23 August 2011

Welcome Baby

Here is a baby card I made using a Bugaboo image. I got it as a freebie (surprise, surprise). They have an awesome freebie every Friday and the images are so cute and easy to colour! There is also a sale going on right now until Aug. 26th as well as a Deal of the Day and Dollar Digis. Check it out HERE.  I never know what to do with parts of the image that should be white so I added glitter for the clouds and left the stork and diaper uncoloured. I am entering my card in these challenges: Summer is for the Birds and the Bees at Catch the Bug, Sparkle Shine and Glitter at Meljens Designs and Anything Goes at Craft Us Crazy.

Sunday 21 August 2011

Thanks a Buzz!

I feel like a lot of my card working has been for the girls lately. They have joined a design team so we have been busy making some cards for that. Miss E. had her 8th birthday party which included making friendship cards for one another. Besides the fact that anytime I get started on a card, they wander into the craft room and ask to make one.
The other night while the kiddos watched a video I got to work on this card. I wanted to enter Catch the Bug's Summer is for the Birds and the Bees challenge and remembered a freebie I got at Dustin Pike's blog awhile back....so I checked out Pike's Playground where the challenge was Button it!....I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday and finally stumbled across a sparkle, shine and glitter challenge at Meljens Design Challenge Blog. Those are the challenges I have entered with this buzzy bee thank - you card : )

Friday 19 August 2011

Back to School

Pretty soon we will be going  'back to school'! That is the card challenge right now at The Crafter's Cafe. I used the freebie on their site. I might give this card to my new teacher as a welcome back, but he is a boy and I don't know if boys really like cards as much as girls. I am also entering my card at Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Kid's Challenge. It is my 4th entry. Thanks for looking : ) P.K.

Saturday 13 August 2011

Happy Birthday 2 U

Happy Birthday 2 U....well Happy Birthday to my brother. I made this card for him. My daughter's bday is the same as his so I will definitely be posting a card for her soon : ) As you may have noticed me and my daughter's make a lot of bday cards for relatives....we have a pretty big family. Anyhow back to the card. I got this Happy Lion from KennyK downloads and just happened to use a lot of orange and yellow to colour and decorate it. So I am entering my card in a monochromatic challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges and at Craft Us Crazy Anything Goes (2nd entry).

Surfin' with Connor the Crocodile

As I upload this card, I realize I definitely need help with my picture taking skills!!! Any tips for me go ahead and leave 'em - LOL.  This card is for my nephew's birthday. Connor the crocodile is a freebie I got at Altered Scrap.  This is the perfect stamp for my nephew cause he loves the water and literally lives at the beach. I am entering my card at Sketch Saturday Week #167 and Craft Us Crazy Anything Goes. Now off to the lake for a PARTY!!!

Good Luck in Kindergarten

Meet Thomas. He is a freebie at Michelle Perkett's Studio.  I think he is going to Kindergarten just like my cousin. I made this card for him. I am going to Grade 1 this year, but I sure enjoyed my first year of school and I hope my cousin will too. I am entering my card at the Children's Challenges at the Latte Lounge and Simon Says Stamp.  : ) P.K.

Wishing you Joy this Christmas

I wanted to get one more entry in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Christmas in August so here it is. I made this one a while back, but need to get moving and make a lot more Christmas cards in order to actually give everyone a handmade card this year. The image and sentiment are freebies from The Crafty Nomad....I have gotten such good use of her stuff! Thanks for looking : )

Pirate Bear

I made this card for my cousin's birthday. He will be 3 in September. He loves pirates and always says "Argh" just like a pirate. I designed this card and did all the cutting and colouring by myself! I am entering my card at Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge. Thanks for looking "me hearties"! : ) P.K.

O Holy Night

First there was Christmas in July at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and now it is Christmas in August at Simon Says Stamp.  I definitely look for inexpensive ways to make cards. I got some ribbons at a thrift shop, papers at a garage sale and mostly buy 2nd hand stamps. Love this image of baby Jesus (from a SU set full of Christmas images.....I never know the names of these sets) cause that is what Christmas is all about : )
